Shark Challenge 15kg - October 2025

​Dates:

Saturday ONE DAY Shootout in October (date to be confirmed on weather): 7am to 5pm.

Entry fee & Conditions:

- $50 per boat.

- Boat/Anglers must be a Club registered.

- One boat member must be present at challenge briefing Friday night @ The Tavern. If you cannot attend, a $50 fee can be paid instead on top of the entry fee.

Categories:

- Heaviest Shark CAPTURE.

- Highest Point scoring boat TAG & RELEASE.

Eligible Species:

- Mako and Tiger Sharks.

Line Class:

- 15kg.

Minimum Weights:

- Mako 120kg.

- Tiger 200kg (NSWGFA minimum weight).

Rules:

- Be a financial member and fishing on a club registered boat.

- Must comply with current NSWGFA rules and regulations.

- Fishing boundaries North: Stanwell Park (S 34’13’), South: Point Perpendicular light house (S 35’05’) and 60NM Seaward.

- Fish must be weighed at Shellharbour Gantry.

- Skeds will be held by Challenge Base at 810am, 1010am, 1210pm, 210pm and 410pm on Channel 82.

- Hookups during last interval must be called before stop fishing at 5pm.

- Capture of a fish – short length to be provided to Challenge Base when safe to do so.

- T&R of a fish must be called in to Challenge Base after tagging to receive a time. Time must be placed on tag card to receive points.

- In case of countback, the earliest fish will be awarded the prize.

Challenge organisers/committee has final decision.

If a decision cannot be made by the Challenge organisers, Club President Shane Burley will make the final decision.

Prize Pool:

- Entry fees PLUS $1500 will be split between the 2 Categories.
